Ecuador Update

Personal News

HomeWe hope you are doing well. We have been busy moving. As we mentioned in our Christmas letter, the Lord led us to move to a new area of the Orlando metro area. We are excited to be much closer to our church and many of our friends. God has also provided us with the downstairs bedroom and bath that we wanted for our parents so they don’t have to climb stairs when they visit. The Lord was even faithful to allow us to sell our previous house in just three days with multiple offers. To God be the glory for His provision and faithfulness! Our new mailing address is P.O. Box 783848, Winter Garden, FL 34778.

Ministry Update

Group Training in South AmericaNov. 2009 Training Group in South America

Staff_in-EcuadorAs you may remember, Dave helped train staff and volunteers in South America in November 2009. One staff couple that received the training was Javier Guaman and his wife. They now lead the student ministry, which consists of six volunteers in Quito, Ecuador.

Our second project to Ecuador just returned a couple of weeks ago. God used them in some incredible ways.

Just as Javier was trained and caught the vision of starting Cru High School in 2009, through the training that Dave helped lead, others are now receiving their own training. Javier and his wife hosted a day training for youth workers in Ecuador at the beginning of the project. Please pray that others would be burdened to launch more Cru High School movements.

Ecuador_sharing_smThe American students and staff got to help launch a new ministry at a private school in Quito. They were able to share a personal testimony and the gospel in every classroom. One teacher who was in the classroom during the presentation said, “I want this Jesus,” and prayed to receive Christ along with several of her students. Wow!

Over the course of four days, the Cru High School team composed of students from Orlando and Denver presented the gospel to nearly a thousand Ecuadoran students with more than 150 indicating they had trusted Jesus as their Savior!

Another teacher commented, “This is far more important than history or math.

Thanks for making a difference in the lives of students.

Prayer requests

  • Please pray for us as we seek to be light and salt to our new neighbors. We have already been able to invite a couple families to our church.
  • We would appreciate your prayers as we pencil in our summer plans. We need to be at a conference in July and we would like to travel on to Oregon to be able to give some ministry updates. It has been 5 plus years since we have been back. Please pray that God would make it possible.
