The Meritt Memos – May 2011

Dear Friends,

We hope that you are doing well. We are looking forward to celebrating Memorial Day with friends as we remember those who have given their all for our freedom.

As we have mentioned before, Dave is coaching a youth pastor inMerced, California. This year they haveseen a lot of their students use Soularium to share Christ on their school campus. Soularium is 50 images that can be used to ask simple, exploring questions that allow you to engage in a one-on-one spiritual conversation with others. After they shared Soularium, the students would continue tomeet with those who were interested in spiritual things. Nick and Anna are a couple of these students that have boldly shared Christ this year. Nick was able to gather a couple of students to disciple using Soularium. One was a Christian already, and the other one came to Christ as Nick shared with him how he could trust Christ. Anna gathered three Christians and discipled them this year. One of her disciples, Ariel, was taught by Anna how to share her faith and as a result she gathered a couple of girls, one of whom was Jenny. Then, Jenny went to church with Ariel and she came to know Christ also. Praise God for these new believers as well as for the faith of Nick, Ann and Alison.

One of Dave’s roles is to oversee, Here is some recent feedback we received about how it benefits others.

I’m happy to read your email. I discovered on Facebook and I realized that it could help me. I had worked with CCCI in Douala ( Cameroon) for five years. I have lived near Paris since January 2010. I found a church in Paris and I’m involved in it. But I work particularly in the youth group with other friends. We want to share the gospel where God has placed us. We want to be a tool in the hand of God to bless our generation. It is why we want to learn for others sake. It is why I started to use Thanks you so much. It is really a powerful tool for me. If I have any questions, I won’t hesitate to contact you. … Botrel

Prayer Requests:

  • For Dave as he leads a very important assignment focused on helping our ministry transition high school seniors involved in Student Venture/Campus Crusade to become effective freshmen for the Great Commission as college students.
  • As you can see from the story above, more people are getting their resources via the Internet. You can also pray for Dave and a team of others as they update and combine Student Venture Web sites to be more effective.
  • That Dave will be able to have the time to work on connecting with people who can help financially with our ministry.
  • Pray for us as we teach Justin how to drive. He got his learner’s permit last week. 🙂

Thanks for all you do to help impact the world for Christ!

Dave and Lynn
